Provision of libraries in schools not only allows students to have a quiet place to read from, but also an opportunity to broaden their dreams for the future. Finlays Community Trust has commissioned a newly constructed modern library at Kamaget Secondary School located at Siongiroi, Chepalungu Constituency in Bomet County. The library was constructed at a cost of Kshs. 2.9 million.
Over 50 students are expected to benefit from the library per day. This is in line with the Kenya government’s policy of upgrading infrastructure in learning institutions in preparation for the implementation of the new curriculum called Competence Base Curriculum (CBC).
The Trust’s Chairperson, Bishop Alfred Rotich, presided over the commissioning of the library. Present during the commissioning were, FCT Trustees, the school’s management, parents, among other invited guests.
This is the 12th library built by the trust since its inception. Finlays Community Trust has now invested over Ksh. 242 million in its infrastructure projects to support development and improve the lives of communities in Kericho and Bomet Counties since 2010.
