Finlays Community Trust previously administered a Master’s Scholarship Programme for deserving students from Bomet and Kericho counties. The programme was designed to equip beneficiaries with advanced technical expertise and soft skills, enabling them to compete effectively in both local and global labour markets.
The scholarship was funded by Swire Group and administered by the Trust. Through postgraduate study in the United Kingdom, beneficiaries gained international exposure, cross-cultural experience, and expanded professional networks—capabilities that contributed to leadership development and community advancement upon return.
During its implementation, two students were selected annually through a highly competitive process to pursue a Master’s degree at a university of their choice in the UK. Since its inception, the programme supported 25 students, with a total investment exceeding KSh 117.1 million. The Master’s Scholarship Programme has since been concluded, having successfully achieved its intended objectives.
