Twenty Students Get Secondary School Scholarships Worth Kshs. 4 Million

Finlays Community Trust is delighted to announce that it has awarded 20 students Secondary School Scholarships worth Kshs. 4 million for the entire duration of their secondary school education. Every student will receive Kshs. 50,000 per year as school fees.

The Secondary School Scholarship programme was started in 1989. Twenty (20) students are sponsored annually through their secondary school education. So far, five hundred and forty-six (546) students have benefitted from the scholarship at a total cost of Ksh. 45.5M.

This is one of the three scholarship programmes offered by Finlays Community Trust. The other programmes are the Undergraduate Scholarship Programme and the Masters Scholarship Programme

The Undergraduate Scholarship Programme was started way back in 1991 targeting bright and needy students from Bomet and Kericho Counties. Each year, 28 students are admitted for this programme. To date, three hundred and forty-four (344) students have benefitted from the programme. The total amount spent on this programme since inception is over Ksh.77.7.

Finlays Community Trust also administers Masters scholarship programme for bright and needy students from Bomet and Kericho Counties. This programme admits two students every year in universities of their choice in the United Kingdom. The programme was started in 2012 and so far, nineteen (19) students have benefitted at a cost of Ksh. 80.9M.
